Mrs Bowman is the class teacher for the Early years at Kettlesing which has Reception children and Nursery from 2 years old.  In her team are Mrs Burton and Miss Marcroft . Together they provide a rich, ambitious and progressive curriculum delivered in a caring and nurturing environment. We focus on the children’s interests extending their learning through their play be that inside or out. Through listening to them and adding our own teacher led moments the planned ambitious curriculum shows progression towards the Early Learning Goals at the end of Reception but is delivered in an adaptive style to suit all children.  

The outside area is used extensively . There is access to an immediate outside play area and then an EYFS garden too. We are lucky enough to have a large field for outdoor adventures, often bringing with us different ‘grab bags’ to enhance the learning experience. 

Our range of ages in the class enables a valuable learning environment for progression in all areas. During the day the Reception children have adult input sessions of phonics ( Little Wandle), reading and maths. During the week there are then planned practical activities for Geography, History, Science, Art, RS,PE(including yoga), PSHE and Spanish which the Nursery children often become involved in.
