This term our topic in Geography is 'Italy'. We will also be using this topic for our Design Technology project where will be making Italian foods, and for our writing. In English, we are focussing on 'Mr Penguin and the lost treasure' and will be writing a fiction, non-fiction and poetry piece. For our fictional writing, we will be writing a diary entry about one of Mr Penguin's exciting adventures. For our non-fictional writing, we will be writing a set of instructions to help Mr Penguin in his adventures. For our poetry we will be writing a Haiku.

In Maths, we are continuing to work on our length and perimeter topic, and then we will be starting work on fractions! In Science, our topic is 'Living things and their habitats' again. However, this time we will be learning how Human activities are affecting the environment and different habitats. For example, through deforestation and air pollution.

Homework:

  • Weekly spellings handed out on a Wednesday and tested the following Wednesday.
  • Reading daily at home with your child.
  • Times tables rockstars! We have a weekly competition against the Red Kites so keep practising!
  • Our new homework project - choose 1 or more to complete and bring it into class to show us!
