IEB Update October 2022
7th October 2022
Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of the IEB, I am writing to update you on the current position in relation to academisation of the three federation schools.
I am sorry and disappointed to have to tell you that the Elevate Multi Academy Trust have withdrawn from their plans to sponsor and convert our schools. This is a disappointment to everyone involved in this work, particularly as the decision came so close to the expected transfer date.
The I.E.B and Leadership team had been expecting a conversion date of November 1st at the latest and this obviously had influenced our decision making and how we were moving things forward. To say we are taken aback is an understatement.
In the light of this development, of which we were formally notified today, the I.E.B. has returned to the Regional Schools Commissioner, Local Authority and Leeds Diocese and asked them to continue their focus on finding an appropriate sponsor for our three schools.
As the I.E.B. we will now concentrate our efforts along with all the staff into continuing the drive for school improvement. Current leadership will remain in place which, as you are aware is having a hugely positive impact on the education and well-being of your child.
We are very aware of the hard work and professional manner with which our staff have embraced the many changes that have been introduced and are delighted with the progress that has been made. We want to assure you of our continued support.
The future of these schools and the education of your children remain our highest priority. I want to reassure you that we will work tirelessly to continue the school improvement journey that has started so well. We will update you regularly on developments.
It is our intention to hold an information evening where the I.E.B, school leaders and representatives of the LA and Diocese will be present to update you on the latest development and will be available to answer any questions you may have. Details of this will be sent out in due course.
Vice Chair I.E.B.
